China has built over 2500 overseas warehouses around the world

Along with the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce, foreign trade enterprises are vigorously building overseas warehouses to enhance their order supply capacity. What functions does the overseas warehouse play? Which companies are actively building overseas warehouses? What contribution does it make to unlocking new opportunities in foreign trade?

Pre warehousing, narrowing the distance between supply and demand sides

On the early morning of May 29th, in a warehouse in Kustanay, Kazakhstan, more than a dozen workers began to busy themselves. They select, transport, scan codes, weigh, package walnuts produced in Xinjiang, China based on order information, and then load and ship them. Our overseas warehouse has effectively played the role of a 'foreign trade station', making it convenient for foreign merchants to receive goods and for us to withdraw funds faster! "Said Huang Xiaorong, the general manager of Xinjiang Haring Food Import and Export Co., Ltd. In addition to self use, this overseas warehouse also has some space for external rental.

Nowadays, more and more Chinese foreign trade enterprises are placing their warehouses at the doorstep of overseas customers, relying on "foreign trade stations" to narrow the distance between supply and demand: shorter order delivery time, deeper international cooperation in the industrial chain, more varieties of exported goods, and faster growth.

Liu Yinghua, Chairman of Tangshan Yingdong International Trade Co., Ltd., who is currently on a business trip in Africa, introduced to reporters that overseas warehouses have become an important pivot for the company to expand its business in Africa. The overseas warehouse we set up in Ghana has been upgraded to a bonded warehouse. Goods entering the warehouse can delay the payment of foreign tariffs and reduce the pressure on the company's funds. When goods are sent to the overseas warehouse, they can also be conveniently transshipped and enjoy tariff reduction policies among member states of the Economic Community of West African States, "said Liu Yinghua.

Connect points into lines, optimize overseas service network

The number of cross-border e-commerce entities in China has exceeded 120000, with over 1000 cross-border e-commerce industrial parks and more than 2500 overseas warehouses built, covering an area of over 30 million square meters.

Many logistics and trade service enterprises have also seized the business opportunities brought by "foreign trade stations" and accelerated the construction of overseas warehouses.

Gao Junbohai, the head of Jitu Yuncang, told reporters that most overseas warehouses are still in the development stage of technology applications. "In recent years, the government's policies to support cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouses have been very awesome, helping Chinese enterprises better participate in international competition. We are also continuing to improve the network layout of overseas warehouses, expand operational capabilities, and add a number of overseas warehouses in the Philippines, Mexico and other countries."

In addition to the 'hard facilities', the' soft services' supporting overseas warehouse business are also accelerating to catch up. According to Li Cong, Vice President of Zongteng Group, "Nowadays, Chinese enterprises in foreign trade are no longer satisfied with developing on a single e-commerce platform, but are willing to actively try multi platform operations and multi-channel sales. This puts higher demands on the service capabilities of overseas warehouses. To this end, we continuously expand our warehouse network layout, reduce final delivery costs and time, and strengthen our dual service capabilities in connecting with overseas merchants and consumers, further expanding our customer base

Vast stage, leveraging more cross-border business

According to data from Qichacha, there have been 3038 newly registered cross-border e-commerce related enterprises since the beginning of this year, an increase of 26.85% compared to the same period last year. Accompanying the growth of cross-border e-commerce market entities is the increasingly broad platform for overseas warehouses to showcase their capabilities.

Compared to the past, overseas warehouses have prevented many orders from being missed. "At present, foreign consumers have an increasing demand for food with Chinese characteristics such as Luosifen. With overseas warehouses, we can ensure that after consumers place orders, products can be delivered directly from local warehouses, and customers' appetites can be satisfied in the shortest time." Yao Hanlin, chairman of Guangxi Luobawang Food Technology Co., Ltd., said that by monitoring the status of overseas warehouses in real time, the company can replenish goods in time to avoid sales losses caused by shortage. In addition, overseas warehouses can also handle returns and exchanges, improving the level of after-sales service and enhancing customer trust.

Looking towards the future, overseas warehouses provide foreign trade enterprises with a more accurate "overseas market portrait".

Wang Zhuqin, the person in charge of customs affairs at Hangzhou Zhongyi Industrial Co., Ltd., told reporters that overseas warehouses can not only help companies respond to the needs of overseas markets more quickly, but also help companies to deeply study the trends of target markets and select suitable products for production and stocking.
